Vegetarian Gothenburg: El Toro Bravo
The street outside El Toro BravoThis Thursday my friend and I went to the tapas restaurant “El Toro Bravo” in central Gothenburg, close to Domkyrkan. From Sunday to Thursday they have an After Work deal between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. where you get 3 tapas and 1 glass of beer/wine/alcohol free beverage for 149 SEK. As both me and my friend love tapas, we decided to give it a try!
The main benefit from visiting a tapas place with a fellow vegetarian is that you can order more of the options on the menu and then share. In total there are 12 vegetarian options on the menu and we ordered 6 of them:
My favourite was the cheese board (love how big the pieces of cheese were) and the quesadilla with spinach and goat cheese (yum). The let downs on the other hand were the garlic bread (the frozen garlic bread from the store is better) and the artichoke (might just not be my cup of tea though). All in all, I would say that it’s alright food. For an AW, to that price, I think it was okay, but they serve the same food at night and then I think I would be a bit disappointed. In general, it felt like I could have made most of that food myself.
On the plus side of the restaurant, the location of the restaurant is really good and the people working there are extremely nice. We showed up when they opened at 4 p.m. and could have a table right away, but it seems like if you arrived a little bit better, you would have had to book a table to get a seat.

Den största fördelen med att besöka ett tapas ställe tillsammans med en annan vegetarian är att man kan välja flera olika alternativ och dela. I totalt finns det 12 vegetariska alternativ och vi beställde 6 av dem (som ni ser över).
Mina favoriter var ostbrickan (älskar hur stora ostbitarna var) och quesadillan med spenat och getost (yum). Besvikelserna å andra sidan var vitlöksbrödet (det frysta vitlöksbrödet du köper i en affär är godare) och kronärtskockan (kan vara så att det bara inte föll mig i smaken dock). Allt som allt skulle jag säga att det var helt okej mat. För en AW till det priset så tycker jag att det var okej men de serverar samma mat på kvällen och då skulle jag nog ha blivit lite besviken. I allmänhet så kändes det som att jag hade kunnat tillaga det mesta av maten själv.
På plussidan för restaurangen är hur centralt den ligger och att de som arbetar där är extremt trevliga. Vi gick dit när de öppnade vid 16 och fick ett bord på direkten men det verkade som att om du kom lite senare så hade du behövt boka bord för att få plats.
